Kimberly Ann Orton

–

Washington, Utah

Our dear daughter, sister and aunt, Kimberly Ann Orton returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father April 22, 2017 after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Kimberly was born July 11, 1974 in Cedar City, Utah to Larry Walker and Mary Catherine Cathy Orton where she grew up and graduated from Cedar High School and attended and graduated from Southern Utah University with a combined Bachelors degree with a teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Sciences and Early Childhood Development. She taught high school and middle school at several schools in the Salt Lake area. In October 2000 she married Jacob Felt, they later divorced.
Kimberly was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved her savior Jesus Christ. She served an LDS mission in The Milwaukee, Wisconsin Mission. She held many callings in the church, all of which she loved. Primary and Young Womens were a couple of her favorites.
Kimberlys true passion was teaching her many school students. She loved and was loved by them.
Kimberly is survived by her parents Larry and Karen Orton, siblings Kary (Jayson) Dresner, Krista (Drew) Bures, Kristopher (Amanda) Orton, Kasey (Randy) Jensen, Leslie Stewart, Karli Orton and Abby Orton, nieces Breanna, Sydnee, Brooklynn Jersee, Keylee, Kylee, Amni, Kashae, Paetyn, nephews Jonathan, Jayden, Nash, Luke, great-nephews Sean, Domnique, Corey, and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Catherine Orton, brother Kelly Orton, Grandparents Ralph and Emoret Boshell, Earl Whitney and Marie Orton, Walfred and Irene Hasselblad
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Greens Lake LDS Chapel 1120 West Greens Lake Drive Cedar City, Utah. There will be a viewing Friday April 28, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at the chapel and on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Affordable Funeral Services.
Kimberlys final wish was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a Gofundme account set up in her honor so a donation in her name can be made to Intermountain Hospice, Utah Cancer Specialists and to one of her friends who is also battling cancer: www.gofundme.com/kimberly-orton-memorial.
As a family we would like to give a special thank you to Utah cancer specialists, Doctors Greg Litton and Louise Toby, and staff. Also a huge thank you to Becky, Bob and the staff at Intermountain Hospice; and to her Salt Lake friends and family, Aunt Julie, Uncle Steve, Erin and Josh; the Russell Holt family; and the Holly Hafen family who created the #TeamKim Kindness Project; and to all who have shown love and kindness to Kimberly and her family.
