Hayden “Bob” Scott
February 10, 1950 – February 3, 2026

Hayden “Bob” Scott passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in St. George, Utah, just days shy of his 76th birthday. He was born on February 10, 1950, in San Jose, California, to Eugene Robert Scott and Helen Agnes Selstad. His mother lovingly called him “Bobby,” a name that reflected the tenderness and closeness of their bond.

Bob was, above all else, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He loved deeply and completely, and his family was the center of his world. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Dean Hume Scott; his three children, sons Arich Scott and Adam Scott, and daughter Kelli Scott; his sister, Helen Jeanne; and nine incredible grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.

Bob believed in the dignity of hard work and lived that belief every day of his life. Loyal, dependable, and steady, he spent more than 40 years working for just two companies—an uncommon testament to his character and work ethic. He worked for nearly a decade as a material handler with the Shasta Beverage Company in Southern California before relocating to Northern California, where he dedicated over three decades as a material handler with Ball Metal Container Corporation. At work, he was known for his reliability and quiet consistency. Everyone there called him “Scotty”—a name so fitting it was even embroidered on his uniforms.

Bob provided for his family with integrity and pride, setting an example through action rather than words. He took great care in everything he did, whether maintaining the greenest lawn on the block or keeping the cleanest car around. Those details weren’t about perfection—they were about pride, responsibility, and doing things right.

In his leisure time, Bob found joy on the golf course or watching golf tournaments on television, appreciating the patience and discipline of the game. A lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan, he remained fiercely loyal to his team through every season, celebrating victories and enduring losses with the same unwavering devotion.

Bob’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the values he modeled, and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered as a man who showed up, worked hard, loved fully, and left behind a life built on dedication, loyalty, and quiet strength.
