Emilio Fred Flores Obituary (1943 - 2026)

Emilio Fred Flores, also affectionately known as "Fred," passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at his residence in Cedar City, Utah. Born on March 28, 1943, in Holtville, California, Fred was an ambitious, dedicated, and reliable individual, admired and cherished by all who knew him. His life was a testament to the adage, "Hard work is the key to success." Fred's journey through life was marked by his tenacious work ethic. He dedicated 35 years of his life to the telecommunications industry, serving as an Executive Director at the "Pac-Bell" companies, that would eventually become AT&T. Even after retirement, Fred's dedication did not wane; he continued to serve at an engineering firm for an additional 15 years. However, his work did not define him. What mattered most to Emilio was his dear wife, Ann. He took responsibility for her when he was just 19 years old, caring and providing for her for the next 64 years. His love for her was a beacon that guided his every step, and he ensured her financial comfort even after his passing. Fred was not only a steadfast worker but also a deeply spiritual man. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints later in life but embraced it wholeheartedly. He served as a Young Men's President, Elder's Quorum President, Bishop, and also on the Stake High Council. As we remember Fred, let's recall the words from the Book of Mormon, Alma 37:37, "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good." Indeed, Fred sought divine guidance in all he did, and his life was a testament to the goodness that follows. Fred is survived by his loving wife Ann-Elizabeth Flores, his children Carrie, Garrett (Barbara), Bradley (Cheri), Elizabeth "Bea", Richard "Rick" (Denise), and Rea (Dennis). He is preceded in death by his parents Paul Flores and Antonia Garza, and his siblings Guillermo, Eloisa, Marcela, Paul, Ignacio Sr, Dionel and Danny.
