Debbie Jean Anderson

–

Washington, Utah

Our beautiful Mom passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones at the young age of 59. Debbie was the cherished daughter of Pamela Sercomb and her biological father Enos "Ray" Carter. She was welcomed into the world in Salinas, California. When Debbie was one year old, Pamela married Earl Claus who became her father figure throughout her life. She was the beloved sister to Wendy Barrett Orfila (Glenn), Sherri Barrett Cabral (Kelly), and Julie Claus Witt (Hans). She loved having her girls trips with them and spending hours laughing, snacking, drinking Margaritas and Wine, and relaxing at the beach. She looked forward to relaxing in bed on Sundays, drinking her coffee and talking to her Dad, Earl. She also enjoyed her phone conversations with her Mom. Debbies parents and her sisters all reside in Southern California. Debbie has lived in Cedar City, Utah for the last nineteen years. The distance was always hard for her but she always said, her family was just a phone call away and made her trips down there even better. Debbie also had a strong relationship with her long time sister-in-law Kim Clemons who resides in Northern Utah. They also had their weekly calls that they both looked forward to as well as their visits.

Debbie was a devoted, and most loving mother to Jonathan Pruneau (Lindsay), Nicole Anderson Simkins (Cody), and Tyler Anderson (Shawnee). She taught her kids what unconditional love was, immense strength, what the values of family meant, and how to have a good time! There was truly nothing in this world that made her more proud or happy than being a Mom and a Mimi. Between her three children, they blessed Debbie with 12 grandkids. She loved spending time with them, making memories, or hearing how they were all doing. When she talked about her family, she would light up. Her family was her whole world and she made sure to tell everyone that. She was always a big support to the rest of the family. She loved all her nieces and nephews (as well as their kids) like they were her own and wanted nothing but happiness for everyone.

Debbie's life was a testament to the power of laughter and the strength of family. She had a knack for making everyone feel comfortable, even in the most challenging times. Debbie was the strongest person weve ever known. She was also extremely stubborn. If you knew Debbie you know exactly what I'm talking about, and boy could it be frustrating sometimes. However, her strong will and her immense strength got her through almost eleven years of cancer. Some of that time went by a little easier than others. She doubted her strength at times but continued to keep fighting for her loved ones.

If you had the privilege to know Debbie, you know her sense of humor was infectious; leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had the most contagious laugh, and an ear-to-ear smile that would light the room. Her hugs could melt a hard day away and she always knew just what to say. She was a woman who knew what she wanted and she wasn't afraid to go after it. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her. No matter what hardships she was enduring in life, she was always happy to drop what she was doing to help others in need.

Debbie loved walking around the lake or sunbathing at the beach, hosting family BBQs, shopping, her monthly pedicures, horseback riding, and living life to its fullest. Debbie was also a dedicated worker at Chrysalis, where she took pride in representing their clients and helping them strive to their fullest capabilities. She believed in the organization's mission and was a valued member of their team for seven years. She made lots of friendships with both the staff and clients over the years of working there.

Debbies legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. She taught us the value of family, the importance of hard work, and the joy of downtime. She showed us how to be frank, how to stand up for what we believe in, and how to find humor in every situation. She was a beacon of positivity, even in the face of adversity. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Debbie was excited to meet her loved ones at Heavens Bar, where they can dance the nights away. Shell be joining her father Enos Ray Carter, her nephew Geoffrey Scott Woodward, her grandma Marion Morris, her stepdad Jim Waller, and her first love Tony Kobylski. Heaven will be quite the party with her up there!
