Celebrating the Life of Christiane Gabrielle Addeo
April 29, 1939 – July 21, 2026
Christiane Gabrielle Addeo passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, surrounded by family and friends at Milford Memorial Hospital in southern Utah. She was 87 years old.
Born on April 29, 1939, in Paris, France, Christiane spent her youth in the scenic provinces of Berry, Normandie, and Touraine. It was during these early years that she discovered her lifelong passion for culinary arts, learning the beauty of traditional French cooking, menu planning, and hospitality at the Institut Fénelon and École Départementale de Vitry.
In 1956, Christiane made the bold journey across the Atlantic to start a new chapter in the United States. Settling in New York City, she mastered English at the Washington Irving School. She graduated from the Wilfred Academy of Beauty Culture, worked with Elizabeth Arden, and managed Jacques Darcel, Inc. before she was blessed with her firstborn in 1962.
Her culinary heritage ran deep. For nearly two decades, Christiane apprenticed under her surrogate father, renowned Executive Chef Jean Henri Salomon, gaining expert knowledge across the great kitchens of New York City. She served as a technical advisor for her family's restaurant, Sebastian’s Clam Bar in Brooklyn, before bringing her talents out West.
Christiane later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where her vibrant spirit and work ethic continued to shine. She shared her passion for French gastronomy by founding a cooking school at Sam’s Town Hotel, catered private box events at the Thomas & Mack Center, and spent over a decade as a dedicated sales representative for Nestlé Foods. Over the course of her life, she called New York, Southern California, and Southern Nevada home before spending her final days in Southern Utah.
While Christiane was an accomplished businesswoman, culinarian, and teacher, her favorite and most cherished role came later in life: being a mother, a grandmother, and a caretaker. She poured her heart into working as an in-home child caretaker, but above all else, she loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing down her wisdom and wit.
Christiane was preceded in death by her beloved son, Sacha Addeo, and is survived by her daughter, Dominique Davy, and son, Eric Addeo.
She leaves behind a rich legacy through her cherished grandchildren: Danielle Conder, Brandon Buchanan, Faedra Recker, Charla Batteau, Jenelle Arnett, Julia, Emma and Zoey; as well as her 13 beloved great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Katelyn, Liam, Izabel, Andy, Alex, Octavian, Destiny, AJ, Byron, Braden, Max, and Bryce.
Christiane will be remembered for her strength, her elegance, her culinary flair, and her proud French spirit. She touched so many lives and was loved by so many.
At her request, services will remain private for family, and no public services will be held.
